Summer School - Create Your Own Conceptual Dinner - Online
Starting June 16, 2026—online!
When the days are long and the world feels full of inspiration, it’s the perfect time to let your imagination run wild.
The Summer School is an intensive, hands-on program where you will create your own conceptual dinner from scratch. Over the course of ten sessions (2 hours each, 5:00–7:00 p.m. CET), including a full immersion week halfway through, you’ll receive plenty of personal guidance from Marije Vogelzang to help you refine your ideas.
Together, you’ll explore food as a language, a tool for storytelling, and a medium for design. You will experiment, play, and create prototypes—expanding your ideas beyond taste and into the realms of emotion, ritual, and philosophy.
By the end, you’ll have a fully developed concept ready to be brought to life, a small portfolio showcasing your creative process, and a completely new way of looking at food—and yourself as a creator. The Summer School isn’t about recipes—it’s about creating experiences that move people, including yourself.
In the Summer School, Marije takes you by the hand and guides you through her Vogelzang Method —a step-by-step yet deeply intuitive approach to designing a conceptual dinner.
You’ll start with a spark of an idea and learn how to nurture it: through research, sensory experiments, and playful prototyping.
You’ll explore the psychology of the diner—why people lick their fingers, hesitate, blush, or look away—and learn how to weave emotion, storytelling, and presentation into an edible experience. Along the way, you’ll also discover how a conceptual dinner can become more than just art—how it can sustain you financially, intellectually, and emotionally.
But the real treasure isn’t the single meal you’ll create; it’s the skill of creation itself. Once you’ve gone through this process, you’ll understand how to cast your own net—to fish for meaning, form, and flavor—again and again, turning your ideas into ever more surprising and heartfelt experiences.
