A day , all the senses on!
Forget everything you think you know about food. During this intensive day, you will be immersed in the world of food design - not by talking endlessly, but by doing, feeling, smelling, tasting, looking and thinking with your gut.
No theoretical drivel, but lots of inspiring examples and lots of personal attention
experiments in which you eat with a blindfold on while sounds manipulate your perception of taste
exercises in which you work with others and use food as a means of communication
evoking fragrant memories with unexpected combinations
sensory confusion as a creative engine
thinking about food as ritual, as material, as social activation
Taste of silence. Or of discomfort. Or of wonder.
You'll be taught all day by food design pioneer Marije Vogelzang, in her new space Food Design Playground - a monumental building in Dordrecht where the walls whisper about time and taste.
We have lunch together (surprising and made with attention, of course), and at the end of the day you step out with a completely new idea of what food can be. No recipe book. But a head full of new questions.
