Peter without Christmas (performance)
🎄 Peter without Christmas (benefit performance)
Performance for young and old — with music, humor, and a lost duck
On Sunday, December 21, at 11:00 a.m., the Food Design Playground will briefly become an apartment, a fairy tale, chaos, and a Christmas dinner all rolled into one. Theater maker Mark van Vliet will perform a special Christmas edition of his successful show:
Peter zonder Wolf (Peter without Wolf) becomes... Peter zonder Kerst (Peter without Christmas).
Peter lives in a gray apartment with his duck Habib. Everything is ready for Christmas dinner—except for one small detail: the duck has disappeared. And without a duck... there is no Christmas.
Peter embarks on a frantic search among his eccentric neighbors:
an absent-minded cat lady,
a bird catcher with rare birds,
a fanatical gamer.
Everyone immediately points to the Wolf. Because, well, that's what he always does in fairy tales. Right?
As suspicions mount, Peter bounces from adventure to adventure. The world of Prokofiev's music resonates throughout the story—playful, exciting, and in surprisingly modern arrangements. Wonder, slapstick, and live interaction with the audience go hand in hand.
A performance full of humor, excitement, and music—in which nothing is what it seems. Not even Christmas.
